Mike Fong is Director of People and Culture at The Langham, Hong Kong, a five star hotel embodying luxury with its European influence and traditions of excellence in the prime district surrounded by the flagship stores of the world’s most famous luxury designer labels. He acts as a business partner in strategizing, executing and driving full spectrum of talent management initiatives to attract, develop and retain talents whilst elevating the employee experience and engagement at optimum status.

With over eighteen years of experience, Mike started with his career at hotel operations management in Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong after graduation and re-oriented his focus on training and development in hotel operations and management training in Marco Polo Hotels, Marriott Hotels and The Langham. Durning his tenure as Learning and Development Manager in these hotels, Mike had led a varieties of talent management and development projects including “rebranding coach” to lead organizational cultural change of Marriott Brand in Hong Kong (2014-2017) and attain “Forbes Travel Guide Five-star Award Wining Hotel” and “Three Michelin Stars Restaurant – T’ang Court” with Learning and Development initiatives as key of the performance drivers in The Langham. He was appointed as Director of Human Resouces in The Langham since the COVID turbulent period to cope with all talent-related issues and be devoted to re-enhancing employee engagement from the downward morale in post-COVID era. He truly believes “People” is the key to business and organizational success while Human Resources nowadays can be a game changer.
