Gherry Akbar is the Vice-President – HR Business Partner at Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison. He is known for his strategic alignment between business objectives and HR initiatives. Gherry fosters a positive work culture and an engaging workplace, implementing robust talent management as well as driving organisational development.

He was previously managing all of the Learning and Culture Engagement activities in the company. Since 2016, Gherry has been focused on creating and revamping the new Talent Management and Performance Management process to ensure that the company has a better and fuller range of employees’ initiatives and people managers’ accountability. He has also established a coaching culture and leadership development program as part of the company’s Leadership Development framework.

He has over 13 years of experience in Learning and Development, Talent Management and Performance Management in various industries such as Banking, Automotive and Telecommunications and has working experiences with Suzuki Indomobil Sales and PT Bank Mandiri Tbk where he headed the Learning and Development activities of the employees and sales force. Gherry holds a Master degree in Human Resources Applied Psychology from the University of Indonesia and is also an ICF Certified Coach.
