Nagalingam Subramaniam has been in the HR profession since 1977 and has worked in a number of industries, including textiles, building materials, housing development, casinos, chemicals, toys, and for the past nine years in apparel.<\/p>\n
Though most of his HR roles have been regional roles in Asia, he was posted to Europe for three years from 1999 to 2001. In the early part of his HR career, he was very much an industrial relations specialist, but also took on bigger roles, and became exposed to all aspects of HR.<\/p>\n
As he approaches the twilight of his HR career, his passion is currently in the areas of talent development, learning and development and coaching and mentoring. He is also the HR business partner for the HBI Asian Leadership Team which comprises the leaders from all the functions and operations.<\/p>\n
On the personal front, Subramaniam enjoys trail walking, hiking and trekking mountains in New Zealand, Japan, Malaysia, Australia, Nepal, Tibet, Peru and Sri Lanka. Another passion of his is charitable projects and CSR and he sometimes participates in physically enduring trail walking to raise funds for charity and has completed the Oxfam 100km trail walking both in Melbourne and Sydney.<\/p>\n
He also collects Ganeshas and his collection is made up of different metals, materials, paintings and antiques. He also likes to read books on personal development and watch movies on Netflix.<\/p>\n
